Support the Council - Sustain the Humanities
Arizona Humanities Council programs are an investment in Arizona’s citizens and communities – because lifelong learning enriches our shared cultural experience and helps us all become better and more thoughtful citizens of our state, our nation, and the world. The humanities play a critical role in this process as a catalyst for the thoughtful examination of today's social, political, cultural, and religious issues.
Here are examples of the programs that your contribution can support:
-
Community Book Discussions promote the sharing of ideas and establish the boundless relationships between life and literature.
$300 –The purchase of 20 copies of a new title for the Book Discussion library
Road Scholars Speakers Bureau provides insightful lectures by humanities experts who share their interest and knowledge on literature, history, human values and culture. Every year our speakers make more than 200 inspiring presentations throughout Arizona.
Project Grants are competitive awards of $1,000 up to $10,000 for innovative, community-based projects and partnerships that connect Arizonans to humanities scholarship through public programming such as cultural heritage development, cultural literacy and civil discourse.
Opportunity Grants are awards of up to $1,000 to fund smaller cultural heritage, literacy, and civil discourse projects that increase the accessibility of the humanities to the general public.
a meaningful difference in the lives of Arizonans.
