Mining Uranium Memories Exhibit Opening Day – Flagstaff

Project Name: Mining Uranium Memories from Northern Arizona University – Sustainable Communities Program

Dates: August 15 through October 28

Based on oral history interviews and documentary research, this exhibit created by the NAU Sustainable Communities program explores the tangled legacy of uranium mining and use in northern Arizona. It complements Hope and Trauma in a Poisoned Land, a visual arts exhibit organized by the Flagstaff Arts Council.

The exhibit will open August 15. A  public reception will take place September 23. A schedule of events is available at: https://flagartscouncil.org/2017/07/schedule-hope-trauma-exhibition-announced/. Mining Uranium Memories is a part of the larger Hope and Trauma exhibit.

This project is supported by a grant from Arizona Humanities.
