Raices: Afro-Mexican Identities Across Borders

Son Jarocho is a participatory music and dance practice native to the state of Veracruz, Mexico that blends Indigenous Mexican, African, and Spanish elements. Son Jarocho has nurtured a cultural revival movement in both Mexico and throughout the U.S. through its fusion of melodies, phrasings, and rhythms.
