Discussions about trust and politics often focus on our trust in politicians. For this event, we’ll flip the focus and ask: why should politicians trust us? Americans have historically low trust in their government, but they have even less trust in each other as political participants, according to a recent Pew Research study. By asking about politicians’ trust in us, we can reflect on our political culture from angles we often ignore. We’ll also discuss the nature of trust, its wider role in communication, and effective strategies for navigating amid distrust
