Neal Lester to be honored by East Valley NAACP and Tammy McLeod announced as ATHENA Award finalist
Past Arizona Humanities Board Chair Neal Lester, Foundation Professor of English in ASU’s College of Liberal Arts and Sciences and the director of ASU’s Project Humanities, will receive the 2014 Roy Wilkins Community Service award by the East Valley National Association for the Advancement of Colored People. Tammy McLeod is a finalist for the Greater Phoenix Chamber of Commerce prestigious ATHENA award. According to the website, “finalists are chosen for their excellence in business and leadership, dedication to the community and support and mentorship of other women.” Tammy is a nominee in the Private Sector category for her work with Arizona Public Service (APS).
