The Northern Arizona University Sustainable Communities Program was awarded an $8,000 project grant to develop the Mining Uranium Memories exhibit . Based on oral history interviews and documentary research, the exhibit explores the tangled legacy of uranium mining and use in northern Arizona. It complementsHope and Trauma in a Poisoned Land, a visual arts exhibit organized by the Flagstaff Arts Council.
Both exhibits open August 15th at the Coconino Center for the Arts (2300 N Fort Valley Rd, Flagstaff, AZ 86001).
