Making Peace: Exploring Personal Experience Through Writing
Tuesdays, 6:00-8:00pm
October 7, 14, 21, 28
Arizona Humanities
1242 N. Central Ave – Phoenix, AZ 85004
Female veterans are invited to join a 4-week writing workshop.
If you found a backpack filled with everything you ever lost, what would you take out first and why?
We’ll answer that question, and others, to explore stories of your life. Humor writing techniques will also be introduced to incorporate into stories about ourselves and what we experience.
For more details or to register for this workshop, contact Hannah Schmidl, 602-257-0335 x27.

At Home: Veterans Read and Share Stories

October 15 & 29, November 12 & 26, December 10
Burton Barr Central Library – Meeting Room C
1221 N. Central Ave – Phoenix, AZ 85004
Male veterans are invited to participate in a 5-week book discussion to reflect upon the experience of military service, war, and homecoming.
The group setting provides a sense of community for peer- to-peer discussions that not only explore issues raised in the readings, but go beyond your military experiences to talk about and explore everyday life.
