For longtime Valley residents, Legend City was an important part of growing up. From family outings, to first dates during high school, many people have stories about this beloved local attraction. According to the Tempe History Museum website,”Legend City was a locally-owned, home-grown theme park in Tempe modeled after parks like Disneyland and Six Flags…The memories of Legend City represent an important shared experience for millions of visitors who passed through the gates during the twenty years that the park operated from 1963-1983.” The hundreds of pieces of memorabilia in the exhibit include photos, portions of actual amusement rides, staff costumes, concert tickets and more.
